Woman was created from the rib of man
She was not made from his head to top him
Nor from his feet, to be trampled on.
She was made from his side, to be equal to him
From under his arm to be protected by him
From near his heart to be loved by him

Most of the time, especially in the Old Testament, women are seen as shadowy, subordinate persons. There are some like Sarah, Rebeckah, Rachel, Miriam, Deborah, Ruth and Esther who hold an outstanding and distinctive position of their own.
A counterpart and helper of man is how the first woman is seen at first in the Bible, but she is actually part of his inner most being and established in an intimate relationship with him. God created man and named him Adam as a collective term for mankind which includes woman. He said, "Let us make man...and let them..." "In the image of God He created him; male and female He created them"NIVGen 1:26;
In his book, All The Women Of The Bible, Dr. Herbert Lockyer says "woman is the feminine of man." Although the Biblical account of a woman being formed from the rib of a man has been degraded and discredited through higher criticism and evolution,
Gen 2:21; stresses the inseparable unity of fellowship between man and woman.
Generally, women are more sensitive and analytic while men seem to act more certain and spontaneous. They are opposite each other and it seems to be God's plan so they can compliment each other by having a checks and balance type relationship.
Our relationship with God is similar to the relationship that a man and woman should have with each other.
After a man and woman have gained a relationship between them like the relationship that they should have with God, a woman becomes a mother, and her love is so important to children.
~A LETTER FROM GOD TO WOMEN~
When I created the heavens and the earth, I spoke them into being. When I created man, I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils.
But you, woman,
I fashioned after I breathed the breath of life into man because your
nostrils are too delicate. I allowed a deep sleep to come over him so I
could patiently and perfectly fashion you. Man was put to sleep so that
he could not interfere with the creativity.
From one bone, I fashioned
you. I chose the bone that protects man's life. I chose the rib, which
protects his heart and lungs and supports him, as you are meant to do.
Around this one bone, I shaped you.... I modeled you. I created you
perfectly and beautifully. Your characteristics are as the rib, strong
yet delicate and fragile. You provide protection for the most delicate
organ in man, his heart. His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life. The rib cage will allow itself to be broken before it will allow damage to the heart. Support man as the rib cage supports the body.
You were not taken from his feet, to be under him,
nor were you taken from his head, to be above him. You were taken from
his side, to stand beside him and be held close to his side. You are my
perfect angel.....You are my beautiful little girl. You have grown to be a splendid woman of excellence, and my eyes fill when I see the virtues in your heart.
Your eyes......don't change them. Your lips-how lovely
when they part in prayer. Your nose, so perfect in form. Your hands so
gentle to touch I've caressed your face in your deepest sleep. I've held
your heart close to mine.
Of all that lives and breathes, you are most
like me. Adam walked with me in the cool of the day, yet he was lonely.
He could not see me or touch me. He could only feel me. So everything I
wanted Adam to share and experience with me, I fashioned in you; my
holiness, my strength, my purity, my love, my protection and support.
You are special because you are an extension of me.
Man represents my
image, woman my emotions. Together, you represent the totality of God.
So men......treat women well. Love her, respect her, for she is fragile
but yet strong at the same time. Tell this to all of the wonderful women
you know to bless their day. This is for all the women in your lives.
Your sisters, your mother, your wives, your daughters, and the ladies
you work with everyday. Tell it to men
too, they need to hear it as well. Tell it to everyone.

~Women of Abuse~
Women of abuse is something that should not be. It is the purpose of this page to minister to women; especially women who are physically abused. As "child abuse" is a crime against the natural resources of this nation, abuse to women is a crime against this nation also because it is a crime against the family and humanity. Not only physical abuse but verbal, emotional, and mental abuse are in this catagory.
We can proudly say that sit-coms, television shows, and movies don't discriminate against age, creed, race, or color anymore, because it doesn't matter who you are they abuse everyone "equally".
Television is educating the kids of America to have a callused heart and be disrespectful to each other, especially parents, in the name of humor.
The church should be the greatest place of refuge for any person abused or in need. There are other places that are organized and operating for the purpose of decreasing the incidence of domestic violence in our community by offering temporary shelter and resource services to the women and children of Gaston County who are victims of domestic violence. Of particular interest to The Shelter is the safety, both physical and psychological, of our residents and the continued education of our community toward domestic violence, i.e. "The Shelter of Gaston County" in North Carolina.
At this shelter there is a Safety Plan for "Women in Danger". If you are in danger and need the plan, you can get it free by clicking HERE.
Also, you can get a "ToolKit to End Violence against Women" by clicking HERE. This is a free kit in PDF format. Also, you can download "Acrobat Reader" for free if you need it to read the PDF file.
